Much has been said about the benefits of exercising during pregnancy. Now it turns out you have another reason – If you exercise, the odds of you delivering a too-big baby drop by almost 30 percent.

Macrosomia is defined as a baby weight that’s higher than 8.8 pounds (or 4 kilograms). Macrosomia raises your risk of delivery problems, having to perform a C-section, hemorrhages after delivery and more.

Now a research conducted in Norway on nearly 37,000 women has found that exercising during pregnancy (and not necessarily before pregnancy) at least 3 times a week reduces the risk for macrosomia.
