If there’s anything more valuable than health, I’m yet to come across it. It may be a worn out cliché, but there’s a great deal of truth to the saying that health is wealth. When you lose your health, you’ve lost it all – you cannot enjoy any aspect of life – your family, friends and all the money you’ve accumulated. So the best kind of wealth to amass when you’re young is health; most of us make the mistake of living it up in our youth (with bad food choices and an unhealthy lifestyle) and then end up paying the price as we grow older. A healthy life is priceless, so get started on this path today with these four tips:
- An apple a day keeps the doctor away: We are what we eat, and the more junk we put into our bodies, the more we’re drifting on the path to sickness and disease. You must eat healthy foods on a regular basis if you want good health – more of proteins, carbohydrates that take longer to digest, and fruits and vegetables that are packed with vitamins and other nutrients. Also, it’s best to drink water and fresh fruit juices instead of sugary drinks and colas.
- All work and no play make Jack a dull boy: A combination of healthy food and regular exercise is the key to good health. So even if you don’t have time to exercise every day, ensure that you get at least half an hour of exercise each day, four days in a week. Mix up your routine with both cardio workouts and strength training exercises so that you improve your fitness, boost your metabolism, and lower your weight.

It’s the secret potion that rejuvenates our body and leaves us feeling as good as new. And when we deprive ourselves of this wondrous medicine, we are calling forth to ill health with open arms. Get at least six hours of sleep every night, and make your sleep patterns regular. Go to bed and wake up at the same times every day so that your body is not confused, and if you’re tired in the middle of the day, take a power nap of 10 to 15 minutes.
- Money can’t buy happiness: And finally, even the best of health can be ruined by stress if you let it affect you. So no matter how much work you have, no matter what problems you face, and no matter how badly life treats you, don’t let stress get to you. You’re not going to find the going easier by worrying about your problems, so take the positive way out and try to find a solution to your ills. When you approach a problem actively instead of passively letting it affect you, you don’t feel the negative effects of stress. Also, find ways to relax and de-stress if you encounter stress on a regular basis at work or in any other situation. Remember, it’s not stress that is bad but the way you react to it.
So there you go, the four top tips for good health – follow them, and you’re well on the way to a fruitful and happy life.
